Hi, my name is Melissa
I'm an Information Technology Consultant. Friends and clients call me TheMacMommy because I'm a goofy, geeky, multimedia mom on a Mac who takes care of them and their gadgets. Patient and thorough, I address technology needs in a holistic way.
Since the 1990s, I've been teaching people of all ages how to use the Mac and internet tools. I hold a BFA from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. My professional background is in graphic design, advertising, prepress, education, and technical support. A passion for digital literacy with an aim to make it accessible to everyone I meet has made me TheMacMommy for longer than I’ve been a mom.
Tucson, Arizona is where I call home with my husband who teaches high school physics. We have two geeky kids and an adorable dog named Opal.
Purple is my favorite color. I enjoy arts and crafts of all kinds. Living with ADHD, fibromyalgia, and osteoarthritis is challenging, but working keeps me motivated. Using technology helps me manage my health. I find quality of life to be enriched by it. My children are autistic with ADHD, so raising them has taught me a lot about accommodating and advocating. I find joy in sharing knowledge and I love learning something new. We live in very interesting times!
I co-host the podcast Geekiest Show Ever. I also enjoy being a guest on other podcasts which you can find by following my blog. I hope you’ll check out my links, projects, and resources. You might learn something, too!
